Blood Work Clear

I spoke with my oncologist this morning and he says all my blood work looks real good. He did not run any tests for cancer markers. Apparently, there is some controversy as to how accurate these tests really are and so they are not running them unless there are other symptoms.

We spoke about the bone/hip pain I am still having and he agrees since it is on both sides it is most likely a side effect from the Exemestane, which is the 5-year pill to help prevent recurrence since the cancer I had is estrogen receptive, which brings a high risk of recurrence. Dr. Anderson suggested I make an appointment to see Dr. Amy Shaw, who is lead on the Cancer Survivorship Program, and I saw earlier this year. Dr. Anderson feels confident that she will have some solutions to help keep me on the Exemestane, since it is so important to continue for five years.

Otherwise, I'm feeling really good and looking forward to celebrating our 39th wedding anniversary this Saturday and Father's Day on Sunday with the girls, their families, and especially our two infant grandsons.

LIFE IS GOOD
